Adolescent Treatment

Arden House Children’s Residential Facility

At Arden House, we provide therapeutic residential care for youth ages 7 to 17 who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, or mental health challenges. Our program focuses on stabilization, safety, and long-term growth, offering 24-hour support in a structured, nurturing environment.

Our multi-disciplinary treatment team includes clinical supervision, licensed therapists, case managers, residential staff, and partnering medical providers who work together to create individualized care plans. Each youth’s journey is supported not only by staff, but also through active involvement of their families and community supports. We understand that seeking treatment and out-of-home placement can be overwhelming for families. Arden House is committed to building strong family partnerships, ensuring open communication, and tailoring services to meet each youth’s unique needs and long-term goals.

Therapeutic Modalities

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidence-based treatment model designed for adolescents who have experienced trauma. This structured, components-based approach combines trauma-sensitive interventions with cognitive behavioral, family, and humanistic techniques.

TF-CBT is highly effective for adolescents dealing with emotional and behavioral difficulties connected to traumatic life events. It has been shown to reduce symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), fear, anxiety, and depression, while also helping youth develop healthier coping strategies, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen family support systems.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is a therapeutic model that equips caregivers and providers to meet the needs of adolescents who have experienced complex developmental trauma. Youth from “hard places” often face a unique set of emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.

TBRI is a holistic, attachment-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based model built around three core principles:

  • Empowering Principles – meeting adolescents’ physical and environmental needs to establish safety and regulation.

  • Connecting Principles – building trust and strengthening attachment between youth and caregivers.

  • Correcting Principles – addressing fear-based and disruptive behaviors with compassion, consistency, and guidance.

At Arden House, we are proud to integrate TBRI into our program. This approach provides practical tools to promote healing, build resilience, and help adolescents create healthy, lasting relationships.
